Our dream has always been to create a true café restaurant within a bookstore. In an age when the independent bookshop is under threat we offer Books, Events, Art, Food and Drink all under one roof.

At Café Also, everything from to the pitta bread to our ice-cream is homemade on site. As well as coffee, smoothies, cakes and all-day brunch. Ali Al-Sersy, our new chef and partner, has created an adventurous, daily-changing menu, cooking with seasonal fish and vegetables from Billingsgate and New Covent Garden.

Firm favourites like fish and chips and Tarte Tatin sit alongside inspired creations like Jerusalem artichoke tempura with roasted halloumi, our chestnut veggie burger in freshly baked brioche bun and courgette and blueberry cake. And every day we have a delectable selection of mezze and salads to choose from.

Café Also is open all day during bookshop hours every day except Saturday and we are currently taking bookings for private dinners and parties in the evening. We shall soon be opening in the evening. Café Also hosts literary evenings, discussions, poetry and play readings often over dinner and wine.
